Architecture for Fun Visits
Fascinating visit recently to the ‘Liverpool Forum’ where David Scott enlightened us about its history and many of the architectural features which many of us had passed by before. A visit well worth repeating at some time. Here are a few snaps of the occasion – If any members on the trip would like to share photos they took or make comments please contact website editor at firstname.lastname@example.org. Ed.
Some 48 members visited The Manchester School of Art [nominated for the Stirling Prize 2014] on Wed.4th Feb. 2015. After an introduction and a short film depicting the architectural concepts of the new building, we were split into small groups, accompanied by student ambassadors, for a tour of the new building and its link to the old School of Art. The organic concept of the build is truly outstanding. Spaces allocated to creative design in disciplines from Architecture to Fashion Design, enables students to thrive both within and beyond their chosen disciplines.
A truly outstanding visit, with grateful thanks to our hosts.
